How to verify a Thai company with official documents

Verification here means: identify the correct legal entity, obtain official current records, and read them without turning registry facts into a fraud label.

Official documents are issued or certified by Thailand's Department of Business Development (DBD). We provide document retrieval, processing, and secure delivery. We are an independent service provider and are not affiliated with or part of DBD.

Verification steps

  1. 01

Collect the Thai legal name and 13-digit registration number from the counterparty.

  2. 02

Confirm that pair on the order form. Do not rely on a trading name alone.

  3. 03

Order the current certificate in the language your reviewer will accept.

  4. 04

Read directors, signing authority, capital, and status on the official file.

  5. 05

Order shareholders or financials only if those questions remain.

  6. 06

Keep the secure download. Do not treat a forwarded copy as the end of the trail.

BEFORE YOU START

Answers before you start

This guide walks through identity, official documents, and the limits of what a registry file can prove.

Use it before you pay a supplier, sign a distribution agreement, or send a compliance pack.

What identifier should I collect first?

The 13-digit juristic person registration number plus the Thai legal name. English names can collide or be missing.

Is a website or tax invoice enough?

No. Marketing names and invoice headers can differ from the juristic person. Match the registration number.

What document should I order first?

The current certificate in the language your reviewer can read. Add shareholders or financials only if that is the actual question.

Does a registered company mean it is legitimate?

No. Registration means a record exists. It is not a finding that the company is solvent, honest, or authorized for your deal.

How do I check who can sign?

The current certificate typically includes director signing authority. Read that clause. Do not infer authority from a business card.

When do I need the latest change documents?

When you care about a recent address, capital, or memorandum change. Those files differ by entity and are not a complete history promise.

Should I use a database instead?

A directory can help you search. For evidence, keep the official DBD file. This service starts with official retrieval, not a scraped database.

Can you automate this against DBD?

Not in the MVP. Staff submit requests on official services. We do not scrape or invent a private DBD API.

What do I send my compliance team?

The official PDFs, the order number, and any labeled summary. Tell them the summary is not the certificate.
